The Portland Montessori School is pleased to announce our new Head of School, Jon Myers. After a national search, the Board of Directors announced Jon Myers as the school’s new leader beginning April 17.
Jon brings 20 years of experience leading and advancing children’s education programs in Oregon. Prior to joining The Portland Montessori School, Jon served as the Director of Before and Afterschool Programs for Camp Fire Columbia, managing teams with 21 school sites throughout the state. As a recognized leader in children’s education, Jon serves on multiple state-level committees working to advance equity in education and increase state and federal support.
Jess Willey, Chair of the Board of Directors says, “After a national search, we feel fortunate to have found Jon right in our own backyard! In addition to being impressed by his professional achievements, we found Jon to be curious, collaborative, and compassionate. We are excited to welcome Jon to our school community.”

A graduate of Portland State University, Jon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, and has completed graduate work with a focus on educational leadership. He resides with his two young children and wife Sarah who enjoy exploring the outdoors, creative arts, and visiting with friends and family.
