Elisabeth Pixley-Fink graduated from Montessori Northwest’s AMI Elementary training in 2014. Before joining Portland Montessori, she worked as Spanish teacher at the Montessori School of Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is fluent in Spanish and has lived in Mexico, where she worked for American Friends Service Committee facilitating community projects for rural youth. She has been working as an educator since her days as a youth camp counselor, and has many years of experience in the field of outdoor and garden based education. She is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, and is a member of the Earthwork Music Collective, a Michigan based group that works to inspire young people’s creativity. She has worked with the US Embassy to offer bilingual children’s music programming in Mexico. Elisabeth graduated cum laude from Smith College in 2008 with a B.A. in Government. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and exploring Portland on her bike.
