To provide convenient access to extracurricular activities, we regularly coordinate after school programs with well-respected third party organizations. These organizations hold their extracurricular classes or programs on our campus. When children are in after school enrichment and are signed up for these classes, the leader of the program escorts them to the class and returns them to the after school enrichment when the class ends. Parents must register and pay for these classes directly with the organization offering them. See a list of class offerings below.

STEM Challenge with LEGO® Materials
Kids are already naturally gifted creators. They dive into our massive collections of LEGO®. And while they build elaborate
objects they explore fundamentals principles of engineering and physics. They also learn to collaborate and create without fear

Music, Movement & Art
MUSIC, MOVEMENT AND ART!
All-in-One Arts Class “Art has the role in education of helping children become like themselves instead of more like everyone else.” — Sydney Gurewitz Clemens This NEW multi-art class is filled with music, movement, art and FUN! We use performing and visual arts to stimulate creativity, physical fitness, and musical ability in our students! We sing original songs, play percussion instruments, explore rhythmic movement, discover spacial awareness, create stories with choreography, make our own musical instruments, paint to different music styles, and the list goes on! This class was designed to encompass both fine and gross motor skills, for the purpose of developing self-confidence in kids’ own musical, physical, and artistic abilities. Our hope is that this class will encourage both creativity and self-discovery in each and every student. Enroll NOW at portlandmusicanddance.com!

"I am so happy that my son is spending his kindergarten year in a Montessori environment where his knowledge, self-control, kindness, sense of purpose, and confidence have all grown by leaps and bounds."
"We've been a part of this amazing community for seven years. Not only are our children getting a fabulous education, but they receive personal care and attention every single day."
"I have taught in public schools for the past ten years, including six years in kindergarten, and I can attest that Montessori is different, special, and provides an optimum setting for children's growth and development."
"As parents, our ultimate goal is for our child to make independent, healthy and confident choices so he can be a happy and productive person wherever he is in life. We are thankful he is with Miss Jennifer's elementary class and The Portland Montessori School community, where he is developing those traits."
"The school community at The Portland Montessori School creates a truly inspiring environment that is nurturing and encourages independence and a desire to learn. We see the results of this in our daughter every day."
