Nurturing Curiosity, Guiding Discovery

The Portland Montessori School has a long-standing tradition of educating children for life. Founded in 1962 as Providence Montessori School, we were the first Montessori school in the Pacific Northwest. We offer primary and elementary programs at our Northeast Portland campus that build on a rich history of learning, friendship and community. Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) recognized, and guided by a gifted team of certified professionals, we are committed to helping children develop a lifelong love of learning and cultivating the skills essential to authentic living.

Now Enrolling for Fall 2015

The Portland Montessori School is currently accepting applications for children ages 2 1/2 to 12 years to start in Fall 2015. Partial tuition assistance is also available to families who qualify for full day programs in both Primary and Elementary. Now Accepting Applications for Board Members

The Board of Directors wishes to expand and diversify its membership. Several founding members are completing their term of service in June. The goal is to recruit five new members, filling out the Board to nine. All Board members must have a passionate belief in the School’s mission, values and programs, but it is in the best interest of the School that a majority of the Board’s members not be parents of currently enrolled students.
